Savasana (corpse pose, final relaxation) is one of the most important parts of your Yoga practice. It can also be one of the most difficult for many people.
It can be tempting to skip savasana, especially when practicing at home, but I encourage you to allow at least a little time for this all important pose, surely whatever awaits you after class can wait another few minutes.
There are numerous benefits to savasana, but simply put “it removes fatigue caused by doing the other postures and calms the mind so that one finishes the practice feeling refreshed and invigorated.” (Sophy Hoare)
Gather some props and try my Hatha Yoga with a Nice Long Savasana video and see how you feel! The longer we can stay and rest in savasana, the better.
